New guy here, I'm planning on ordering an AR8 pro+ in the morning. I'm thinking I will build my own stand for it. What i am looking for is some dimensions for the mounting holes for the cnc to the stand. Also, what is the height of the control box? Need to make sure I have a shelf big enough. Thanks to anyone that can help!

You should be able to view the manual and all the dimensions should be in there. I only have the AR4, but I bought the Axiom Stand. That thing is solid as a rock. You could build your own, but the one that is offered for the machines are first rate. Also it's very easy to move the machine around if needed.

Thanks, but the manual only lists overall dimensions. I was hoping someone could get me some hard measurements. The optional stand does look nice, but I have a nice welder and a pretty good supply of steel. Figured I might as well save a few dollars.

Mounting holes for an AR8 Pro are 30.375" W x 58.625" L x 29" H. Control Box is 14" H. I totally agree with Stevem, the factory stand is rock solid and glad I purchased it instead of building one.

Thanks that's what I needed. Already got the machine. Ordered Wednesday and it arrived before noon today! Have to let the paint dry on the stand over night, then get this thing running in the morning

Looks good! Does it seem stable enough for the weight of the machine?

Yes it is stable. The upright corners are 4x4x3/16 and the horizontal members are 7x2 10 gauge c channel. I'm pretty sure you could park a truck on it.

If you don't mind me asking how much steel did you buy and what price? Just curious the cost savings..I recently got a Lincoln Electric Pro Mig 175 and need something to weld.. I made a wood stand that's slightly bigger than the machine, but takes up too much room and it's hard to get under it to lube the bottom screw.

Sorry I don't have a plan. Just built on the fly. I could give you any dimensions you want though. As far as steel, we build steel frame buildings once in a while. It was all leftovers. All I have in it is probably two hours time, a can of black spray paint, four appliance levelers, and a sheet of Baltic birch plywood. Maybe $50 all together for materials.

Yea, I would take dimensions of the separate pieces you cut. I could probably figure out the rest from there. I have the same machine size. PM me, if you don't want to post. Thanks!

The length of the cross members are 55" for the long side and 26.5" for the short side. The legs are 4" x 4" and 28.5" tall not including the appliance levelers on the bottom.

I haven't done a lot of metal working before, just getting into it, when I go to buy the steel what gauge should I ask for?
