Sounds like you're coming out with a full body armor suit that is air conditioned and has hearing, vision, breathing, and aggravation mode protections built into it. Don't forget to include pockets and chambers for the donuts and coffee. LOL

I plan to be there Wed., Thur., and Friday. I live in the Atlanta area and always look forward to IWF when it comes to town. I just dread the traffic getting there.

Well, from what I could see, they are adding a fourth axis for turning but would be difficult to add to my "old" AR8. They have a neat Air Cleaner that works from the floor rather than the ceiling. I was looking specifically for Lasers and Plastic Nails this year and I think that rather than going with a 'powerful enough to cut' laser, I may go with Axiom's laser to do what I need to do.

They have an air cleaner that sits on the floor to clear dust from the "below the waist" level. Two models of this coming out in December (Mildly aggravating that I couldn't purchase one on the spot). Also, they have a tabletop cnc as an "entry level" model. No fourth axis on display, but they were burning Mayan calendars with a "laser".

I bought a Omer B17P.763 Finish Nailer - drives Raptor Composite Nails F/15 and F/14 up to 2-1/4" from Ansco Fastener Sales. They delivered quick and I've been happy with the nailer. If the wood is thick, I predrill a partial hole with a small bit. Easy to place the nail and it goes right in.

Explored the Axiom site and looked at the Axiom i2R Series which is a new machine due out in December. They offer 2 options for spindles and 3 options for table size. I like the smooth curves of the machine. Didn't see the new vacuum system on their site.

I also purchased an Omer nailer with every size nail that would fit it. WOW what a chunk of change on that one. However, it's only money and looking forward to using it to hold things down on the AR8.

As everyone has mentioned, we had released to the public...both a new line of CNC machines (The i2R series) that can be seen on the website, as well a a new ambient source capture air cleaner. The new CNC line will begin shipment in mid December. The Stratus Air Cleaner is still in the production stages and we hope to see it available towards the end of the end of the year as well. You can find out more about the Stratus at www.breathecleanair.com

Release?
The 4th Axis Rotary kit is currently on backorder and will be available to being shipping again once back in inventory.
We are expecting arrival of a container with a number of these Rotary kits due Aug 25th. Once it has arrived, shipment of the orders will resume.

Axiom Tool Group curious if the 4th axis rotary kit will fit the new i2R lineup? Also curious if there is anything in the works for a laser attachment similar to the one's that fit the AR machines?

The i2R machines as well as the older Basic model machines are 3-Axis only and will not support the rotary kit.
Due to shorter Z-axis clearances...the current laser which has a 4" focal length requirement will not fit. However, we have began the process with our laser manufacturer to explore laser options for the i2R machines and are hopeful to have something soon.

I just wish Axiom would remember the people that were brave enough to go with a new company that just started, I have the Pro 6 but can not upgrade to put rotary on it, or anything else, the only way would be to basically give my machine away and buy new. Really disgusted and disappointed in Axiom

Hi JS,
Thanks for posting your thoughts. I'm a relatively new CNC owner, myself - had my Axiom for about a year now. When I first got started, I honestly felt I would make more use of the additional options (4th axis, laser), but I think it all depends on what you're doing with your machine.
I think Axiom's machines are great - even without the 4th axis or laser, they've increased my capabilities 10-fold. I also have a 3D printer and used to use that a lot, but it's been collecting dust ever since I got my Axiom because it's just much faster to mill a part than it is to print one.
Is there something specific that you're unhappy with about your Pro 6's performance as a 3-axis mill? Or just unhappy about its lack of expansion?

I guess just unhappy with ability to expand my unit as I had rotary planned ideas in mind when first talked about that ability, as far as laser, I already have one.

I hear you; a 4th axis does open up some exciting, additional alternatives for manufacturing.
I'm not sure what kind of options you have, but you may want to try giving Axiom a call if you haven't already. I've dealt with Chad in the past and they've always seemed to try to be pretty accommodating; they may be able to work with you on some sort of solution.

Really disgusted and disappointed in Axiom You say you have the Pro 6, I cannot find that model. Or do you mean AR6, because I have the AR6 Pro 5 and it has 4th axis capability and it is less than 1 year old. For 4th axis is why I chose the AR6 24x36 cutting capability. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

js - Gary Campbell offered a possible solution for us folks that have earlier Axioms that are not 4th axis capable. Check through the postings by him. I bought my Axiom through a dealer at a steep discount a number of years ago which was about the time Axiom was coming out with the 4th axis.
