Okay, I went brain dead on cutting my spoil board. I am using a 1.25" bit and cut the spoil board. It came out fine except for the edges. I need to take a cut on the edges to get them smooth with the rest of the surface. For some reason I cannot figure out how to do this and I have done it before. If I try to cut on the line I am getting an X axis travel error. I am using the same 1.25" bit. Should I offset inwards or something?
Thanks.

I think there's a file that Axiom can provide that makes the cut twice in order to eliminate the ridges left by a single cut. I have one which I think came from Southern Ginger. I would think you could edit your file to include a second pocket or profile cut that takes just a small amount extra.

Thanks. I did call them and they just told me to create a Profile cut right on the line. I created the Profile but, when I run it I get an X axis over travel error. I just sent them pictures of my files so we shall see what they recommend.
Thanks for the information.

This may help if you are using a Vectric product for your design:

To cut the perimeter of the spoil board, you have to lie. You cut on, or inside the outer line, but you tell it you have a small bit. You really have your larger surfacing bit installed. This makes the software think it's cutting within the allowable size, but you are making a larger cut.

Actually you don't have to lie, as the machine only knows if the center of the bit goes outside the machine limits. What is important is that you set your boundary rectangle to be just a hair inside those limits. The "trick" is to do a profile cut "ON" that line, which allows the bit to cut a larger area than is between the limits.

Gary, I defer to your answer. It's actually much better than mine.....

This is what I was going to recommend, a pocket alone will leave the edges, you need to do a profile on the line to get the rest Update: I updated my fly cut file on my website to be more efficient when the bit is moving from point to point. This should speed up how long it takes to fly cut your spoil board
