I'm looking at a used late 2015 AR6 Pro machine
Is it possible to switch the controller to work in inches, or can it only be used with metric?
Thanks

The controller itself cannot be changed to work in inches, but your CAD/CAM software will let you work in inches, and it will convert it when the gcode is created. So, you only have to use metric when directly controlling the handheld; ie: up0.5mm, left 30mm.

If the controller cannot be changed to inch measure with G20, what G codes does the controller recognize?

While the manual states that the controller supports "standard G code", that's as useful as saying it requires electricity. There are many G-code dialects and different codes for lathes than mills. Clearly, there will be codes this controller doesn't support such as G20 (program in inches) and a details list of the codes supported would be useful especially for those that want to make (or select) their own post processor for say Fusion 360, a popular request in other threads.

From what Chad has told me and also looking at other forums, you create your project in inches and then the software ( Vectric) converts it to mm. I have made projects in mm as well and have measured them with a caliper and they are dead on. MM are more accurate but I had never worked with mm till I got a cnc machine.
