Got my new Axiom Pro 24x48 in, setup, power run to it, exhaust hooked up and now staring at it trying to figure it out. Was disappointed in the lack of training from the tool distributor I bought it from. Rather than wait till the end of February i would like to know if there is anybody near the Florida Pandhandle that would allow me to visit them for a day and shadow them to learn the basics about machine setup. I am good with the design aspect just want to learn the basics so I don't drive the spindle through the table. If you are willing to allow me to come in I will compensate you for your time and try not to be a nuisance. I am in Fort Walton Beach, FL and my number is 248-933-0429

It's a 7 hour drive for you, but you're welcome to come visit me in Augusta, GA. I have an AR8 Pro and while I'm not an expert, I can show you what I've learned over the past 2 years.

I'm currently doing a shop renovation and have my systems down otherwise you could visit me in Savannah. You might want to post a request on the Vectric site. There was a map showing where folks with Vectric products are located - assuming they requested to be listed.

What exactly are you needing as far as running the machine?
Once you turn on the system you should home all axis. This will move the gantry to the front (Y), then left (X), then move your Z to the top.
If you design in VCarve and set your design to Center you can move your gantry to 609.6 (Y) and 305 (X) to center your spindle.
Find the centerpoint of your material, mark it, and then place it on the bed of your machine at the location of your spindle.
Insert the bit of your choice.
Plug in your zeroing puck, place it on the top of your material, and select (Tool Set). Your system is now ready to cut.
Load your file off of your USB drive. Select RUN, then select your USB Disk, then select your file (Name of file.mmg)
Hit OK, and then ok again. You should see a countdown and your machine will cut the first tool path.
Hope this helps.

Doing a V-carve sign is pretty easy and fast to get your toes in the water.

Hey TrainDriver - I live in Greensboro, GA (about an hour west of you) and am seriously considering buying an Axiom AR6 Pro - I would love to drive over to see your machine in operation and ask a few questions regarding setup and shop space etc before I make the commitment and order my machine. My email is bachstrad2001@gmail.com if you are willing to reach out and let me set up a visit.

I am only a few hours north of you in Eclectic alabama. Learning the basics of the machine is pretty simple, just make sure you re-zero y when changing bits.

I think uzumati meant to reset your Z height after changing bits.
