While I was waiting for my AR8 to arrive, one of my projects was to install a Harbor Freight dust collector. Not bad for the money. After some use with CNC it was still a little too dusty in the evenings with the garage door closed. I decided that I needed a little bit better dust collection. First, I changed the 5 micron bag that comes with the HF setup to a 1 micron bag. Under $30 from Amazon. POWERTEC 70001 Dust Collector Bag, 20-Inch x 31-Inch, 1 Micron That worked pretty good for a small investment. Next. I started to browse at air filters for the shop. I couldn't put out a lot of cash for a fancy, expensive unit. I came across the WEN 3410 3-Speed Remote-Controlled Air Filtration System. It had 362 reviews with 4.5/5.0 stars. The price was right at only $111.00. Every review I looked at online was very positive. I ordered it from Amazon and got it in 2 days (a week before Christmas!!). One of the reviews is by Steve Good, master of the scroll saw. Steve Good Wen 3410 review. I've been very pleased with its performance. The timer is great. After the two, the shop is almost dust-free.

Not sure if it's only me, but the links you posted (for all 3 items) link back to this page. You will need to copy/paste the URL of the item you want to link to in and put that into the "URL" box in the 'Create Link' box (after selecting the text you want to have a link for). Hope that made sense...

They're working now. Not sure what happened. Maybe cause I used https instead of http. Or I could have left in a extra http...
P.S. Am I the only one that can't get preview message to work. Nothing happens when clicked.

Nothing happens when clicked.I'm getting same thing. It worked for me in the past, unless my memory is faulty (it is). Note: I just noticed that a pop-up window shows "javascript:void(0)" down in lower left side of screen when I hover over the "Preview" button. I'm using Firefox, and I believe FF doesn't play very well (if at all anymore) with Java. Haven't tried using Explorer (or Edge or whatever MS has rebranded their web-browser to).

I bought a similar collector but it is the Grizzly model with the 1 micron filter cartridge on top instead of the bag. Love it and it does it's job well.

I have a Dust Deputy (cyclone) on my shop vac and am looking to add one to my larger 1 micron dust collector. They do a great job of capturing most of the sawdust and shavings before they go into the dust collection system. Since I'm renovating my shop I'm also considering adding one of the ceiling dust collectors.

I have been using a Harbor Freight dust collector for 5 years now and it works good, but not great, until I have installed a Super Dust deputy sitting on a 55 gal drum and also got a Grizzly filter that has the cleaning crank on it. Price was about $200 for that. Since I installed that, the HF works much better and Pulls everything the Axiom throws at it. I use it for the whole shop and have a 24 foot hose so I can hook it to one machine at a time. When I am in full building mode, I fill a 55 gal drum about every 5-6 weeks. Most of it comes from the planer and table saw.
