I've had my Axiom for a few years, always reliable, always works without any problems unless I've created them. It's the season to make sawdust at my house. Just the last week or so, the router will be in the middle of a cut, stops moving, router motor stays running at full speed, but the gantry isn't moving. Looking at the handheld controller, it isn't reading the file, no numbers are coordinating (which they should be of course) and the only way to do anything is to shut the router off. Best way to describe this is computer terms is "Frozen". No reaction from the buttons, nothing.
I am working off a file loaded into the handheld memory. After I shut it down, start it up and go to home position, I tried to "read" the file and it stops reading it at some random percentage. Deleted the file from the memory, loaded it again, and the file won't load, stops at a random percentage. Tried a new flash drive, allowed Vectric to recalculate the cut just to be sure, loaded the file from the CPU, tried to copy it to the handheld, same thing. Stops at a random percentage. Every time it stops loading the only way to rescue the handheld is to turn off the router CPU, start all over.
So, because I'm in the middle of a 3D cut, my only choice is to run this off the flash drive. I did read the file from the flash drive with the handheld and it read the whole thing without any problems.
Any suggestion on why things freeze up and the handheld malfunctions? Do I need a file, do I need a new handheld?
BTW, the only way to save the cuts is to start from the beginning of the file. Even though the handheld asks if I want to start from the time the CPU gets turned off, the file never loads to that spot, just stops at a random percentage and freezes. Had this happen three times in a week, something isn't right
Thanks in advance
