Good day, Has anyone changed their coolant? I am ready to change mine but I really do not remember how to change it. I appreciate anyone who might have that answer.

I have an older manual and didnt see it there. I downloaded a new version and found it. A manual is a great place to look rather than asking. Thanks again

Absolutely nothing wrong with asking. I am a new Axiom owner but happy to help whenever I can.

It's on page 20 of the 8/13/2015 Owner's Manual.

Axiom support responded to me that the coolant is an anti-freeze and should be alright in our projected 28-32 degree temperatures. I decided to take an extra step and wrapped the head of my machine with multiple layers of packing blankets. It is sitting in a storage unit until I get the workshop renovated and wired for it. Happy New Year!!!

I just recently swapped out all my coolant, and my tubes. I couldn't stand the rusted color that developed shortly after receiving the machine two years ago. I have swapped out the coolant before the hard way...never again. I now will just pull the supply tube off and the drain tube, then let it cycle new coolant in.

I'm having the same issue with the brownish discoloration in some of the tubing. I have distilled water and antifreeze to change out the old, but I'd love to know if you have any recommendations for replacing the tubing. Were you able to get comparable tubing at a big box store?

Yes, I ended up getting the tubing at ace hardware, but Home Depot and Lowe’s also carry it. I will tell you that about a month after changing the tubing it went brown again...so I’m not sure it’s worth the effort.

What fluid are you folks using? I thought we should be using RV Antifreeze and or distilled water. The stuff I bought is Pink. I'm sure it comes in different colors though.

I just changed my anti-freeze in my AR8PRO+. Piece of cake. I just followed the manual. I ran about 2/3 gallon of distilled water through it to do a good flush, then put the intake (with the extension tube) in the jug of RV anti-freeze. I let it run until the fluid coming out was a solid pink. The lines were a gunky brown color, but the old fluid was a good, solid blue when I flushed it out. I've run mine 2-5 hours a day since it arrived in November 2017.

So what is the brown gunk? I was thinking it was grease from the spindle, but the coolant should be running in a closed loop.

It could possibly be some oil or grease from when the spindle was assembled at the factory that makes the spindle. Axiom doesn't make these spindles! They are available online without the Axiom logo on it, as well as the Delta VFD. The difference is, the entire system is run by the control software of the machine and the VFD is installed inside the control box. The machine at my local Rockler store has had one on the floor for over 2 years now and hasn't changed the coolant ever. It brown in color as all the other ones everyone is talking about, so I really don't think it's hurting anything. We are just so anil about taking care of our machines, we think there is something wrong when in fact that color is probably normal after a few hours of run time. Kinda like having a diesel car or truck. After changing the oil, 100 miles down the road the oil is already black again. I worked for a dealership in sales and customers always came in and ask why there oil is black the day after they just had it changed.
