I only have 6 months or so with my Pro8. I've been really happy with my progress but finally came on a problem I need help with. I've been doing 2d carve in pine slabs. Within the last couple weeks when in the middle of a job my Y axis moves and destroys the piece. I called Axiom. He advised slowing down cut and clean and lube. I'm using a .25 down-cut (Amana 46415), pass depth .2 at 100 ipm in soft pine. Heres the kicker. Just for the hell of it moved the piece down to the far end of the spoil board and haven't had any missteps. Any advice? Thanks.

Usually when an issue like yours is location specific there is a mechanical reason. That's why tech support added "clean and lube" to slow down.

I've had my AR8 Pro for 2 years now, and about 4 months after I got it, I had an issue where my Y axis would suddenly screw up during a 3d carving, about 80% of the way through. Afterward, my Y axis would be off by anywhere from 6 to 12 mm, with no particular pattern to how much it was off. Axiom's recommendation to me was the same, and they walked me through how to change the speed of the tool in the tool database, and that fixed my issue.

Thanks for the help. Just so I'm on the same page, when your speaking of tool speed you are referring to IPM option, correct?

Yes, the feed rate in inches/min is what I changed.
