Ken, If you're talking about converting a photograph into a relief carving, you can use the Photo V Carve tool in VCarve Pro (I don't know about the desktop version.). I have had good results with a small step-over. Try different settings. Sometimes the quality of your carving depends upon having a white or black background. Experiment with the tool and trust the preview. Bob

Ken, There is a program called PixelCNC that is designed for artists by artists and lets you create signs, v-carvings, engravings, and more. I use it for v-bit carving on acrylic and lithophanes. There is not a lot of instruction for it but the developer is quick to answer questions and provide support. Might be worth a look for you. deftware.myshopify.com/Doug
