Hi,
I have noticed that when I save the X=Y=Z it holds nicely after shutdown...not so much with A0 (rotary 0).
I put a 3" square in, rotated it until one face was level with the aluminum surface board and zero'd A0. I marked an arrow on the end so I would know where my saved "up" was.
Then I shutdown, restarted and Home'd. The Home position is perfect for X-Y-Z but A0 is several degrees clockwise from where I set it.
Any ideas why it won't save this? Thank you.

Are you rotating the A-axis using the controller?
As with any of the axes...the origins are stored in reference to the HOME location. This allows those locations to be repeatable provided the the machine is homed on startup every time.
The sensors used with the X,Y and Z axes are adjusting only lateral movement, whereas the sensor on the A-Axis is picking up rotational position, where the 0.1mm tolerance may make up for a small degree of rotation that would otherwise be noticed.
My best guess would be that this may be improved upon by adjustment to the sensor position or the motor torque levels.
You may need to give me a call to discuss this.

Turns out I was talking Apples and Oranges (which tech support helped me figure out). When starting the machine I would Home, then set a zero origin for all 4 axis. Upon restarting the machine, I would home again and the spindle would be -76 deg from my zero. How do I know that? Because that's what the hand controller said it was! By pressing ORIGIN, it turned everything to zero like it should.
Just when you think you have all your basis covered. Ok - better now!
