Hi group. So I bought a 1 year old twice used A8 Elite and set it up in my shop yesterday. Got power to it today and went through the manual to get acquainted with the controls. I have the Hust controller with this machine and so I set the dial to the "Home" position, selected all axis and pressed Start to send the machine to the home position. The Z set to the 0 position then the X and Y started and I got an error code. The code was "ERR37. NC. ALARM Servo Err (X)". The X and Y were both at negative coordinates on the machine coordinate and work coordinate.
I turned it off, then back on and went through the homing process again and the machine went to home without issue. I then started messing around and started a program. I had to use the emergency stop button on the controller because I was afraid the bit would cut into the wasteboard and I wasn't sure what program was running. I reset the stop button and then rehomed the machine and I got the same error code.
Basically every time I stop the machine or rehome it, I get that error code and I have to turn the whole thing off then back on in order to home it. Can anyone help me with this? The error code in the troubleshooting section didn't lead me to any solution. This is my first real CNC, my previous CNC was something I built myself and was using a 3D printer board to run. Any help is appreciated!

Alls I can say is I’d think calling axiom is a try, I’ve never had issues with tech support. Even though you bought it used, I had a previous 4x4 brand and had tons of issues and was at a loss after a month. They didn’t hesitate to hear me out and plausible things to try.

Thanks for the response, I'll try giving them a call! It has been homing once I restart it so I've been using it for now that way but its definitely something I'm going to call on soon because I hate to have to keep restarting it.

My wife and I just came home from Columbus where we had the level 1 training. We really enjoyed it! On my first project to cut, I was a little too excited and hit the home axis button with the touch off pad still connected. The cord was stuck on the lower gantry and upper gantry. I moved the gantry to get the cord unstuck and then my problems started. I received an error code saying “Yaxis servo alarm is on, please reset servo alarm” I then hit cancel and read this, “The emergency signal may cause the stepper motor lose step recommend return to zero for coordinates correction, press CANCEL does not return, press OK return to zero”. I get this code on the X and Z axis too, if I restart the machine and click either X, Y, or Z to move. I have restarted the machine many times and I also disconnected the power for a minute when restarting. All of my resets didn’t clear the error. Does anyone know how to reset the servo’s or what I need to do to clear these error messages? Thanks, Mike

Did You resolve this? It may be that the touch off puck cord got tangled in the limit switch on the side of the gantry (the one nearest X-0). If this got pulled out of alignment, no telling what error condition you might be in based on where the gantry is, but I'm confused by an error message referencing "stepper motor" in a servo motor machine.

I'd definitely recommend you reach out to Axiom's support either via email or phone. They're very easy to work with and should be able to get your issue fixed without much trouble.

I contacted Axiom and I found out that one of my Y servo got tweaked. I had to realign the servo and tighten it to solve it. Now I am having an issue with my X servos, but the 2 servos that I see aren’t lit up. I need to call Axiom again tomorrow to find out what to do. I will post my findings for future reference.

I'm having a similar problem with my brand new AR16, which I just installed today. When I start the AR16, it will do the Home All operation, but when I try to jog X+ and Y+, I get the follo0wing error on the RichAuto screen: "Alarm. Xaxis servo alarm is on, please reset servo alarm" I'm not seeing any such entry in the manual. Any idea what's going on?

I'm having the same problem. Puck wire got caught between top cover of pump reservoir and X-Axis sensor, which moved it. On restart, machine will not 'home all' or move on x or y axes. How do i reset the x axis servo alarm?
