Since I had to isolate myself, I decided to complete some half-finished projects in the shop to make room to start more half-finished projects. First one is credited to ZAxis4 for the idea. The candy box is ambrosia maple with some nice curl in it, and the ribbon is maple and purple heart The second one is an idea I wanted to try a while back, but was scared of putting an inlay onto an inlay. It's a pretty sturdy little bench for me to park my butt while I put my boots/shoes on. _ I still have one more bar to weld on for the boot rack/shoe holder portion, but I ran out of acetylene and you can't bend rebar cold (it snaps) so I'll actually finish it this weekend. It's been sitting in the shop for over a year waiting for me to get the courage up to try putting the inlay on. If I do this pattern again, I think the lead horse would look better made of ambrosia maple.

Nice...td...any tips or tricks you figured out on the "inlay in inlay"? That idea opens up a LOT of possibilities. With the proper vertical distancing beneath the bench top and some insightful positioning of the rebar, you could hang 3 pairs of boots upside down under it. If your feet are big, you might have to go for the Clydesdale shoes, though.
