I have a AR4 basic and just wanted to know if there is a way to speed up the movement of the X & Y axis. Whatever I have bought now is what it was when I bought the machine. I just want to speed up the X & Y movement in the high speed setup.

This is the answer I got from Chad at Axiom:
The Rapid speed is displayed just before the toolpath file begins….labeled as the Fast Speed.
On this screen, the Work Speed can be ignored as it relates tot eh feed-rate used during cutting and the controllers are setup to take that information from the g-code.
The shuttle speed (Fast Speed) is still active.
This speed has always been set modestly, as it is a single speed which can influence both XY and Z-Axes.
If you wish to change this number, increasing the feed-rate….just highlight that line and press the RUN/PAUSE/DELETE button. This will activate the field, and then you can enter the new number and press OK.
If increased too far, this may influence slipping or loss of position along an Axis….however, you should have some adjustability here.
I would suggest also checking the Max Speed Limits in the controller to ensure that the Z-axis is limited. This will help prevent the Z-Axis being moved at the same rate as the X & Y….and limiting the chance for that slip mentioned above.
To do this, go into the MENU and select the Auto Pro Setup….then choose the Max Speed Limit. Scroll down to highlight the Z+ line, then press the DELETE button again and enter 1500.00 and press OK.
I hope this information is helpful, please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you,

I have the AR8 PRO and my work speed is 6000. My fast speed is 4000. My Y & X Max speeds are at 4000. My Z Max speed is 2000. I'm not saying you'll be fine at these speeds but I went to a lot of work when I got my machine to establish the fastest speeds that I could use reliably. These are the numbers I came up with and I haven't had any issues. I blow the dust off the machine occasionally and wipe down the ball screws and guides with 3 in 1 oil before major jobs....
