I have an etsy store where I make sublimation signs. The signs are laser cut and are from Sublimation hard board here is a description of hardboard:
"4x8 Unisub® .125" Hardboard Sheet Stock 2-sided. This thin 2-sided hardboard is the same as used for the Unisub clipboards.Unisub® Hardboard Sheet Stock is a masonite substrate with durable, stain resistant coating specifically designed for full color sublimation. Hardboard is coated on one side only in gloss finish with a removable protective film. Unisub® sheet stock may be routed, sawed, drilled or laser cut to create custom sized and custom shaped items. The possibilities are endless." Now my question is has anyone cut sublimation blanks with their cnc and what bit did you use? Or would you use? I am thinking of getting a new laser because business is good and I worry about my laser going down and hurting business however if I could use the AR8 to cut blanks I would be covered and could save a lot of money. :-) Lesa

lesad- Looking at the dyetrans website, there's barely any difference in the price per sq ft of the Unisub in 4 x 4 sheets versus the 4 x 8. Either way you're gonna have to do some cutting beforehand to get it onto your AR8 in order to cut it (yet again) into blanks.
At 23# per sheet, a 4x8 sheet will be "unwieldly" to say the least, and you'll have some loss due to knocked off corners, cracks etc while moving it around and getting it on and off of your table saw. I note that these come either 10 per case or 20 per case (4x8 and 4x4 respectively) so you're looking at a "box" of stuff weighing 230-240# to store and move around...I suspect that the freight on this will "eat your lunch". If you have a local supplier, that would eliminate that cost (except that it's built into their pricing), but you still have to "get it home" (meaning...likely...a trailer for the 4x8 stuff or a pickup truck for the 4x4.
What kind of laser are you (currently) using and what are you contemplating? Sorry I can't help you with the bit selection.

I buy 4 x 4 sheets and the warehouse is in my city I already buy it and cut it into 20 x 24 sections for my laser. I get such a clean cut with the laser and I cut so many different designs and shapes (https://www.etsy.com/shop/DerbyCityWreathsShop) as you can see there. I am just worried about will this machine substitute if my laser dies. I got the rest of your concerns taken care of I have been doing this for a while.

What laser would you get if you replaced your Chinese 60W? Is this something a glowforge basic could handle?
