Consider a judicious application of "Crud's Constant" here. Turn off the machine Unplug the controller from the board at the back of the machine Plug it back in again Turn on the machine and see if it works.
Crud's Constant states that "If something malfunctions, take it apart, do nothing to it, and re-assemble it...60-90% of the time the problem will be solved" The first corollary to Crud's Constant is "Do not disturb original dirt" (Ie: cleaning the carburetor).
You might also consider "flicking your fingernail" against the left hand dial knob. If that works and the problem later recurs, you might have a bad connection inside the controller.
Axiom support would be the next approach. Assuming that you're still under warranty, they can ship you a new controller pretty pronto.
