Some people just talk to themselves...... I bought into the I2R product. Based on this fact alone, not to mention I'm sure others are wondering, I would like to know when a laser attachment will be available. When I purchased the product I was told that a Laser would was on the product timeline which I hope will be the case otherwise I might have waited a while and bought one of the "better" CNC's. The first response said it "should" be available in the fall.

We've gone through a couple prototypes as is usually the case as improvements are made.
Currently, testing is being done with what we believe to be the final version before release.
While we apologize for the delay in release, development takes time and should not be rushed or we risk releasing a product that we immediately need to make changes too.
Presently the time line looks to be on mark with still being released this fall.

Do you know the wattage of the laser? Also status of the 4th axis? If I purchase now, will I have to go through a costly upgrade for either accessory? I was told the same information from Axiom and have been waiting to purchase.

Presently it appears the this will be a 2.8W laser...the larger 4.2W laser is reserved for the larger machines. The price point is not fully decided upon yet but it would be expected to be around $500.
NO modification to the machine would be required for compatibility. It will be possible to install these lasers on any Axiom i2R machines using a RichAuto controller.
*Regarding the 4th Axis...there will not be a 4th Axis accessory for the i2R line. These entry level machines are designed as 3-Axis only units....things such as control features, wiring differences and the gantry height all prevent the use of a 4th-Axis.
The 4th-Axis accessory is reserved for the Pro and Elite series machines.

I would like to see at least a 4.2W laser. 2.8 is a little small.

I ordered mine and just got it yesterday. I'm looking forward to installing it and trying it. I have never used a laser before and would love some advise or websites that I can go and learn how to use it.
