Cool, thanks, think I'm going to do this also, I will just need to mount mine on the left side of the machine (I think) thanks for the link I have also been thinking of putting a strain relief (cable clip) at the end of the cord where it connects to the contoller box ( I worry about the constant wiggle there when I drag the pendant around) just been putting it off... might do both at once.

Very nice idea.
- Would you mind posting another pic showing where you mounted it on the frame? Have a hard time 'picturing' it in my mind
- I assume the tool tray is a magnet mount style?
Thx.....

Here are a few more pics including the mount, this bracket came with the monitor arm, and the tool tray is magnetic and from harbor freight.

Also for the cord wobbling at the machine, the cord now no long has any pressure on it since I can only take the pendent so far. This was an added bonus. It can be mounted to either side, this way just worked better for my garage set up. I have attached the file for the cradle . Attachments:Controller Cradle.crv3d (571.5 KB)

I have also been thinking of putting a strain relief (cable clip) at the end of the cord where it connects to the contoller box ( I worry about the constant wiggle there when I drag the pendant around) just been putting it off... might do both at once. Strain relief is definitely a good idea with these little plugs. You can easily do this with a pair of nylon "single screw" cable clamps of the appropriate size, (they look like a "P" when viewed from the side). Pull a little extra cord past them to make a nice looped curve and drill a single hole for each in the table leg or cabinet. Offset them 180 degrees with the screw "on top" on the one nearest the plug and "on bottom" for the one nearest the pendant and separate them by about 1/4" and screw the cable down. For those with the Elite series machines, since the controller is on the other end of the machine in a drawer, simply temporarily remove the panel below the drawer on that end and feed the big fat plastic coated thingus that is molded onto the cable near that end (Ferrite coil, maybe?) through the slot with the cord running under the machine. Any tension you then pull on the cable will pull this coil against the slot and not permit any strain against the plug connection or screws.

Outstanding! I should follow your lead instead of swearing at the problem.

I have used similar ball & socket set-ups for custom camera mounts for a customer of mine. they are a bit expensive though, got to put on the thinking cap and come up with a shop built solution. thanks Traindriver !

If you're gonna do that, you might as well screw the pendant to the wall.

The cheaper option works fine for me and was in a budget I could sell to the wife. Thanks for the link though, I will use it for future projects.

I only posted the link as an idea for something that could be machined, not purchased. I made something like this one time in a smaller scale for monitor mounts. It would have been much easier to make them with a cnc router, though.
