Hello all, If this thread is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. Anyway, I recently cut the duck that came in the clipart with my Vcarve (See Below). I was told that with Vcarve, you can cut 3D but you can not model 3D. Is this correct? If so, if I download STL files off of the internet, I should be able to paste them into a piece and use them just like clipart, correct? I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks.

You are correct about not being able to create 3d models in V Carve! Design & Make has tons of 3D clip art that can be used in V Carve and Aspire. Some are very reasonable to purchase. Some of the STL files on the internet are good and some not so good. There may be others on this forum that can provide you with good suggestions on which sites you can purchase good clip art. I went to the Vectric seminar in Chicago and had a great time. They did talk about clip art and that the art they sell on Design & Make are specific for use in there software and are designed just for that purpose. I have purchased a few pieces and can say they cut perfectly without any problems and come out great.
Where in Wisconsin are you? I live in Franklin, WI a suburb of Milwaukee

I’ll second stevem the design and make files have all been very good. There are a lot of sites out there that have 3D models available but quality can be kind of hit and miss. As far as getting it into the software stl is one of the options under import vectors.

I've cut STL files many times with success. With V-Carve, you can only import 1 STL file per drawing. Aspire does not have this limitation. You can however combine native Vectric Models with your STL file.
