Laser attachment and photo engraving

Has anyone had success with the JTech laser attachment and engraving photographs?  I've been trying to get PhotoVCarve to work
with poor results.  The laser PP generates errors in PhotoVCarve.  If you have had success with the laser attachment and laser engraving
photographs, could you share your setup parameters and software you are using?

Update 9/20/2018: just realized that the Jtech laser doesn't support PWM and you would need an additional pic control box that Jtech sells to send pulse width modulation signals to the laser which is required for photo laser engraving.

But as for now the laser is simply on/off and unable to do greyscale, for now I just use it for lettering I don’t want carved or scenes that don’t require greyscale to look good.

Thanks for your reply.  I spoke with Jay of Jtech and he informed me that the Axiom control board needs updated firmware to speed up the 4th axis which is used by their picconvert box for PWM greyscale control.
