I am getting an error "There is in the machine coordinate state can't set workpiece original, please switch to the workpiece state" when I try to set the XY "0" for my workpiece. Can anyone tell me why I am getting this error?

Hold MENU and press 1 to get back the work state. MENU and 0 puts you in the coordinate state.

That is correct...
When on the main coordinate screen, just hold down MENU and press any number 1-9 and then let go.
You should see the number to the left of the X, Y, Z coordinates change to accordingly.
That lefthand number represents the current coordinate state...again, they are numbered 1-9 and each have their own independent XY and Z origins.

I am having similar issues and need to reset the machine's (AR8) computer coordinates to match its physical coordinate. The picture shows the display though it's physical coordinate is 0,0,0. Is there way to reset? I promise to home the machine before every project.

Dan,
You can not reset those coordinates....that machine coordinate state is used by the controller for al movements.
You will need to use the same instructions listed above to leave the AX, AY, AZ coordinate state and enter one of the numbered states.
When you do this the screen will change to show a number 1 through 9 to the left of the X, Y, Z axes.....those numbered states can each be used to program separate ORIGINS for machine operation.
