I have experienced two error codes today, for the same carving. When starting up finishing, after roughing, I recieved error code 21. The spindle did not start, but the program did. No damage done. After resetting all went well until 4 hours into the finishing. I then recieved error code 04 (spindle stopped). I stopped (emergency) and after resetting started up and all went well till program finished (one extra hour). I'm running an I2R. I can not seem to find any explanation of what the error codes mean. Anybody?

I'm not 100% certain on the ER. 21...however, I'm sure there are related.
We've seen a few of the machines where the settings on the VFD, which are programmed for efficiency...may need to be adjusted.
Those parameters effect the points in which the alarms go off resulting in those alarms. There are 3 parameters that would need to be adjusted...changing when the alarms are triggered for voltage, current and temperature.

I ran into the ERR 04 code this evening. I had a 3D carve running that had been in progress for several hours. When I checked on the progress, I found that, although the carve was still running, the spindle had stopped and ERR04 was displayed in the VFD window. I saved the origin position and shut the machine off. Then I restarted and re-homed before returning to the saved origin setting, then restarted the carve.
So far its running fine. But I've printed out the PDF on the VFD torque adjustment. If it errors out again, I'll make the adjustments in the settings. If it finishes the carve without further problems, I'll make the torque adjustments before starting another carve.
UPDATE: The settings adjustments did not solve the issue. On the very next carve, I had the same problem - ERR 04 and the spindle stopped, while the carve kept running.
Its not a static issue with the dust collection. The 2nd time it happened, the dust collection wasn't attached or running.
So what exactly does ERR 04 indicate ? And what can I do about it ?

It has seemed that this ER04 code can occur for a number of reasons...including VFD settings where alarms can be triggered prematurely if set up incorrectly.
With the earlier I2R machines, the troubles seemed to be centered around either the VFD settings or a need for additional grounding at the machine due to some very small charges that build up when the spindle is operating. While these charges are milli-volt in size, it appears that without the added grounding they can trip the sensitive alarms within the VFD.
This was discovered during the CSA approval process and had led us to a number of changes that were made to the Iconic machines as the line was re-branded.
The same error is occasionally seen with the Iconic line as well, but appears to be caused more by temperature/load of the spindle (again treated with the setting changes initially)...with the grounding changes having been made to the machine, there has been no evidence of spindle related charges tripping the alarms...but we have seen evidence of voltage irregularities from the power supply (110V wall outlet).
If you have an i2R machine, please contact our support team for details on the grounding change...this essentially includes connecting a single wire that is currently unused (by the spindle) and installing a wire that runs from the control box to the machine (typically, alongside on of the main cables) that would connect the main ground to the body in a more direct fashion.
