I happen to be a fan of the "Stacked Text" Technique in the Vectric software. So I decided to push my limits with what can be possible... This is a three layer "Stacked" design I've had on the drawing board for many years......I call it "The Gears of My Heart"........14" x 14" x 1" HDU, I know this would have been easier using Aspire but I wanted to see what could be accomplished in VCarve..

I LOVE it! Very steampunk! How long did it take you to design and what bit did you use?

I LOVE it! Very steampunk! How long did it take you to design and what bit did you use? Thanks All for the comments... Design time...... ? I've had the design idea for years, In fact I started to acutally design the item to acutally move.... If I started again, I would think 20 - 30 hours. Bits,,,,,1/4" end mill for removing the larger areas and 1/8" mill end for the rest. It's all pocketing toolpaths....... Here's a picture of the vectors used... Michael

Very nice! Gotta ask...…..how many toolpaths??? 6 total. Three layers, 2 toolpath per layer. All pocket toolpaths, using a larger tool first then a smaller one. I'm sure that could be reduced but I have a different machine that makes this type of work less confusing. Michael
